One hundred and sixty five. That’s how many pages of reading you’ll have to get through if you want to understand the Scottish Government’s new Lobbying Act, which will be coming into force in early 2018.
If you’ve not heard of the Lobbying Act then I’d encourage you to keep reading.
The Act itself and all its accompanying explanatory documents are a dry read for sure, but this new legislation will more than likely have a profound impact upon how organisations engage with Scotland’s MSPs and ministers in the future.
With criminal penalties for non-compliance, together with obvious threats to your organisation’s reputation, the costs are high if you get it wrong.
But fear not, Indigo has launched the first in a series of Indigo Insights events to help you get to the bottom of this new legislation to ensure both you and your organisation remain compliant.
Indigo Insights will take you through the new Act, what it will cover and offer you practical advice and guidance on what you need to consider. All we ask in return is you come along armed with questions and then enjoy breakfast on us!
Our first session takes place at 8am on Wednesday 11th October and places are likely to go quickly. So if you’d like to come along and make use of the expertise of our public affairs team then please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, job title and organisation and we’ll do the rest.
If you can’t make the event on October 11th but would be interested in attending a future event on the Lobbying Act or another piece of legislation then get in touch. We’d be happy to chat through how we can support you.
